About Books and Videos
We want our customers to have access to good books and videos, and at a reasonable price. We also know that they can be purchased elsewhere, including deep discounters such as Amazon.com. I think that's great--I buy from Amazon.com too, and I certainly understand what it's like to pay a certain price and then find out it was 40% cheaper someplace else. I also make good use of my local library!
There are basically two types of books/videos here--those that are distributed anywhere at any price, and those where the authors/publishers have limited sellers to those like us who agree not to deep discount their intellectual property. This of course has presented us with some difficult decisions, so here's what we are going to do.
Items available through mass distribution will be priced competitively, and we will do this honestly. It gives me no pleasure to sell a book for $6 more than if you buy it on Amazon. But, we won't be keeping a lot of inventory on these items, so occasionally you might have to wait an extra week or so. Items that are not widely distributed will be priced according to the author's guidelines. Sometimes there's some wiggle room for a discount, sometimes there isn't.
Why should you buy these items from us? Convenience, the effort we have put into previewing the items, the fact that you can always contact us with a knitting question, the better descriptions and presentation of the book, and of course just because you like us LOL!
