Use any basic pattern or design your own. Use a simple stitch--fancy cables or stitch work will get lost in the colors, although lacy patterns can be very effective. Any of the modular techniques so popular today will produce an entirely different look. Why not try triangles, or pentagons, or hexagons, or mitered blocks--or a combination?
