Gossypium natural cotton yarn


Gossypium is the botanical name for the cotton genus; there are about 50 species of cotton plants. Cotton is the primary natural fiber used today.

'Gossypium cotton" yarn is custom made for Erika Knight in India. The eco-friendly manufacturer is an integral part of the local community, promoting fair labor practices and the welfare and development of its employees.

The lovely pastel colours are centered around the popular Shibori Blue color palette, and this naturally soft and breathable cotton yarn is perfect for baby as well as adults.

Needle size: 3.75-4mm / US 5-6
Tension: 20-22sts x 28-31 rows to 4 inches / 10cm

Machine wash warm gentle cycle, dry flat

I love this yarn. It knits up so nice for baby blankets. It swaddles the baby when wrapped in it.  I make them for my granddaughter's children.  So glad that it is still available!

I bought this yarn to finish a baby blanket after getting 4 cakes on sale at a store that was closing.  It is high quality yarn but not very soft.  Hoping after the first wash the yarn will get softer.
