In memory of the thousands who died on September 11, 2001, in honor of the countless acts of heroism that followed and in celebration of the enduring spirit of a nation united in the belief of liberty and justice for all.  A border of stars surrounds a center of slanting stripes on these square pieces. Lace weight scarf 32" square takes about 930 yards for fringed version, 620 yards without.  Worsted weight throw is 60" square and uses about 1350 yards yarn.  A shawl can be made with sport weight yarn.
